“Technology is crucial in helping us create an office that is based in Barcelona, but operates worldwide,” says Benedetta Tagliabue, who founded EMBT with husband Enric Miralles in 1993.
“I really push to have the best technology in the office.”

That’s why EMBT jumped at the chance to beta test the new HP Designjet T2300 eMultifunction Printer (eMFP), which has simplified processes—as well as communication—among the firm’s global teams. The HP Designjet T2300 eMFP is the first web-connected, large-format printer with print, scan, and copy benefits. It connects directly to the Internet, so users can print remotely to any large-format, web-connected HP Designjet from a computer or mobile device.1 Coupled with new HP ePrint & Share software, this powerful solution revolutionizes the way the EMBT team collaborates.

Simplified communication

While EMBT was working on the Expo 2010 Shanghai project, the team encountered unique challenges. Because the structure was so complex, EMBT’s client first considered producing the entire structure in Spain and then shipping it to China. HP ePrint & Share and the HP Designjet T2300 eMFP offer a more effective solution to these challenges in the future.

Cloud-based HP ePrint & Share lets users instantly share large-format files, in a range of sizes and file types.2 That means that wherever EMBT team members are—in the office, with the client, at the site—they can share the latest files instantly.

“We realized that our team in China could just take our drawings and produce them in the same way,” Tagliabue explains.

Project director Joan Callis can use HP ePrint & Share to upload files from the firm’s Barcelona office to the cloud, which the Shanghai team could then access and print through the eMFP’s touchscreen. Callis says,

Joan Callis

“HP ePrint & Share is very simple.
We can use it not only to print the
final process, but also to share.
It’s important for us that we can communicate quickly and directly. ”

High speed, fantastic accuracy

In architecture, speed and accuracy are critical to success. Callis says when her team is working on a competitive pitch or has an important deadline, speed is fundamental.

“If you don’t deliver everything right on time, you miss the opportunity and lose the project,” she explains. “And there is always something going wrong at the last minute.”

She is thrilled with the speed and accurate output of the HP Designjet T2300 eMFP, which prints at 28 seconds per page.3

“The images look really great and the speed is amazing; that’s exactly what we need—something that can print any kind of line, image, or text at incredible speed and quality,” Callis says.

Easy printing experience

The HP Designjet T2300 eMFP makes it quick and easy for teams to print work and meet deadlines. A color touchscreen allows for intuitive operation and page previews. Users can print directly from a USB thumb drive; no PC required. The eMFP is also easy to maintain, which reduces downtime and helps EMBT keep up with clients.

Tagliabue says the HP large-format printers have been a blessing, helping her team work fast and communicate without losing time. She says,

“With the HP Designjet T2300 eMFP,
it’s as if we’re in the same place,
which revolutionizes our way of working. ”
