However, GSI’s recent addition of an HP Scitex FB7500 Press and an HP Scitex LX800 Printer has increased its production power and versatility beyond what had previously been possible. “There are no more limits,” says Christian Duyckaerts, GSI’s general manager.

More, faster

According to Duyckaerts, the HP Scitex printers can more than handle the diversity of GSI’s ever-evolving workload.

“The HP Scitex FB7500 Press
greatly enhances our productivity
while enabling us to expand the
range of our application offering.”

Duyckaerts adds that with its up to 5,382 sq ft/hr (500 m²/hr) print capability,1 the FB7500 has proved pivotal to our ability to print medium and long runs of POP/POS applications under even tighter deadlines.”

In addition, operators can easily replace printheads in less than 10 minutes, minimizing downtime.

The HP Scitex FB7500 has already proved its value on a number of high-profile projects including one for Decathlon, a major sports retailer. For Decathlon, GSI was able to print on an extended range of sheet-fed materials for eye-catching in-store graphics.

“We had a tight timeframe in which to print the Decathlon graphics, and despite the fact that we were printing variable data on a variety of materials—including foam- and corrugated-board—maintaining consistent color accuracy was critical,” Duyckaerts explains. “We were delighted that the new FB7500 lived up to our expectations.”

An environmentally sound investment

In addition to performance gains made with its HP printers, GSI is now able to do more work that matches its strong environmental ethic. The company’s investment in an HP Scitex LX800 Printer will allow it to expand its range of green products and use of recyclable substrates.

“As well as being asked to use more environmentally friendly technologies, we also strive to encourage customers to select more sustainable options,” says Duyckaerts. “The HP Scitex LX800 Printer, together with the multiple-substrate printing advantage of its latex inks, can help meet these goals and enable us to undertake a greater diversity of larger-sized applications that deliver stunning visual quality.”

Thinking ahead

HP printers, including the HP Scitex FB7500 and the HP Scitex LX800, allow GSI to meet client needs both today and into the future.

“We need to see their needs through their eyes,” says Duyckaerts. This often means testing the limits of what GSI and its HP printers can do, but that challenge does not worry Duyckaerts.

“We have the right tools, so the challenge
is to use them in the right way to provide the
best solution for the customer at the right price. ”
