Introduction

To keep your HP Indigo press running at the top of its game, HP is always looking for ways to improve and enhance everything from hardware components, to software applications, to customer service. Read the following Field Change Order (FCO) announcements and advisories to find out how HP can help you help your press.

1. FCO announcement

N-Fix 5 for HP Indigo Print Care

Affected product

HP Indigo press 3500
HP Indigo press 5000
HP Indigo press 5500
HP Indigo 7000 Digital Press
HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press
HP Indigo WS6000p Digital Press

Reason for FCO

To announce the release of N-Fix 5 for HP Indigo Print Care. This New N-Fix is mandatory.

Improvements include:
  • Change of IP address of the Call Me @ HP server (critical)
  • Fix troubleshooting help video links
  • Minor bug fixes
  • N-Fix 5 includes all the previous N-Fixes

Implementation

This installation takes approximately 30 minutes.

2. FCO announcement

ITM Lamp Holder Seal

Affected product

HP Indigo 7000 Digital Press
HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press
HP Indigo W7200 Digital Press

Reason for FCO

To describe how to install the ITM lamp holder seal. Imaging oil vapors in contact with the ITM lamps get heated, and create yellow viscous (glue-like) material that damages the ITM bearings. The ITM lamp holder seal prevents imaging oil vapors from reaching the ITM lamps area.

Implementation

Follow the instructions provided in CA393–02740 — ITM Lamp Holder Seal Installation Instructions.

3. FCO announcement

Power Supply Covers with Filters

Affected product

HP Indigo 7000 Digital Press s/n 40000413 and below, excluding 40000410 and 40000411
HP Indigo W7200 Digital Press s/n 42000013 and below
HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press s/n 41000122 and below, plus 41000129 and 41000130

Reason for FCO

To announce the availability of the Power Supply Covers with Filters kit. The power supplies are exposed to dust, ink particles, metallic particles, and other fine particles that reduce the lifespan of the power supplies. The solution is to install covers with carbon filters. The covers prevent the particles from getting into the power supplies. The filters should be replaced after 12 M impressions

Implementation

For the HP Indigo 7000 Digital Press:
  1. Follow the instructions in Power Supply Covers with Filters Installation Instructions (CA393-2580).
  2. Replace the filters after every 12 M impressions. Use the 12 M Impressions Preventative Maintenance kit (CA397–02770).
For the HP Indigo WS6000 Digital Press and the HP Indigo W7200 Digital Press:
  1. Follow the instructions in Power Supply Covers with Filters Installation Instructions (CA393-02580).
  2. Replace the filters after every 12 M impressions. Use the spare parts kit: Filters for 24V/48V Power Supplies (CA341-12370). Order two units per engine.

4. FCO announcement

Perfector Middle Arc Installation

Affected product

HP Indigo press 3500: s/n 30002199 — 30002207

Reason for FCO

Presses with two arcs may experience substrate jams at the perfector, when using thick or thin substrates. Installing the middle perfector arc may reduce these substrate jams.

Implementation

Follow the instructions in Installing the Perfector Middle Arc (CA293-06870).
